
And, for the first time here, I thought it'd be interesting to post a scan of the underdrawing that I do on every painting before I add acrylic paints and colored pencils. Staring on a grey surface, weather it be a gessoed surface, or just a grey illustration board, gives a nice, even middle tone to the art. That way, only the color, shadows, and highlights need to be added to the piece to achieve the look I need.
